I began this journey to NC-17. fifteen years ago, after a meeting with Elizabeth Swados, creator of the seminal 70's theatrical hit, RUNAWAYS, which was inspired by the city youth's of that time.
We sat across from each other in her West Village loft after reading a draft of my "re-conceived" version of her play. Her words to me were:
"Why don't you write your own."
It was not a quesiton.
I began my work that day in the Fall of 2002.
Grateful for all of the teachers I have had on this journey of words and truth.
